What can be done to discourage the Dems from doing this?

Just like the Dem's made the rules on the House side for the way impeachment went down, Mitch McConnell will make the rules for the Senate trial. I guess he could require all republican senators to be present for a senate trial or they pay a heavy price. Will he have the spine to lay down the law and hold it all together?

Pelosi won’t agree to a recess, so the senate probably will hold pro forma sessions.

I don’t see how the RATs can try and do anything until McConnel says how things will go down.
