I couldn't tell which one you were talking about, but since I have the mike, I'll take a swing around the block.

I want to slap whoever decided Daisy Ridley was attractive enough to be a movie star, and especially whoever decided she could carry the Star Wars franchise. She has one facial expression every time I've seen her, where she looks like Mr. Smith in the "Martix" series. Where does Hollywood come up with these people?

She probably tested well with focus audiences or marketing types who found that she more closely resembles fan girls at comic conventions.

And in this cos-play world that is big marketing.
