"So the water is just two hydrogen molecules?"
Your sarcasm is on-point, as the article does not explain what it means for the oceans to be "deoxygenated." Does the ocean contain free oxygen amidst the water molecules and other chemicals found in it? If so, why would an alleged surplus of CO2, which contains oxygen, deplete the oxygen content? And what role does the free oxygen serve?
I guess as laymen we aren't supposed to ask any questions, but just panic and give the experts a green light to restrict our freedoms in whatever way they choose.
PS - I don't think that the ocean is free of problems, and that acidification and other imbalances probably need to be addressed, as long as they are real problems addressed with real solutions.

So the water is just two hydrogen molecules? Yes. Haven't you noticed that they call CO2 emissions carbon? It's your carbon footprint and all that. Not your carbon dioxide footprint. Carbon. So yeah, go ahead and have a nice glass of cool, refreshing hydrogen right from the refrigerator.
