I don’t understand your point. I don’t have a problem with people with opioid addiction, I know people who struggle with it, and also people who died from it. My disabled uncle was lied to when they said his pain medication was non-addictive, and he believed it. Millions of other people were lied to and set up for it by unscrupulous medical practitioners and Perdue Pharma. I’m not saying Opioids should be banned, but the Sacklers shouldn’t be allowed to profit from abusing the system and ruining millions of people’s lives. The Sacklers are no different than the drug cartels, in my opinion they’re actually worse because the cartels don’t pretend to be anything other than what they are.
I agree with you, Shadow44.
The Sacklers were made aware a long time ago by their lawyers of the increased sales. And of the issues with Opiod dependence.
They are like the old time Coal Mining and or Cotton Plantation families. It was okay to make the money on the misery of others as long as it didn’t come back to haunt them.
The Sacklers got their tax deductions for contributions of millions to the school. Naming the various buildings was simply a nice touch. It wasn’t for Charity. It was for tax purposes.
And yet not a single pharma company or doctor or anything else forced anyone to swallow fistfuls of Oxy.
It’s called personal responsibility.
If a drug is negatively affecting your
emotions, thinking & relationships you tell you doctor to adjust/change meds. Or quit taking it.
You do not continue taking a med to
the point of addiction, then scream
it’s big pharma’s fault.
It’s not about pain to most people, it’s about getting high.
