I understand, Bob.
And I’m not certain the call records were secured by means
of a National Security Letter that FBI Director Chris Wray
would have had to approve, either.
Nor, apparently, is Nunes.
According to some posts I just read at the forbidden city,
Nunes seems of the opinion that Shiff used subpoenas and
that Shiff lacked authority to issue them. That Nunes saw
them, but not who they were for, nor what all the records
that came back were about.
So the “How” does not yet seem to be conclusively
determined, and Shiff isn’t answering the question.

Nunes was also concerned that AT&T just gave up the records without a fight.
My implication exactly; if this is a fed judge who accepted a prosecutor's subpoena from the HofR against the POTUS he should be impeached and then prosecuted for violation of constitutional rights - whatever - and sent to Devil's Island with all the other criminal Demo'rats.
I read ya. Nunes is playing the card in front of him, one at a time. If his fury actually does lead to Roscoes theory on an NSL, (Wray) he can still play that card later.
