In a poll conducted by Mexico City's Reforma newspaper and co-sponsored by The Dallas Morning News and The Mission Foods Texas-Mexico Center at Southern Methodist University, 68 percent of participants said they did not believe Trump's wall would be effective, despite billions of dollars expected to be poured into the initiative.
It is still unclear exactly how much Trump's border wall will cost, if completed. While the initial price tag was thought to be around $8 billion to $12 billion, official and unofficial estimates have ranged from over $10 billion to $70 billion.
So far, however, the Trump administration has only built just over 85 miles of border wall, with a CBP report asserting that approximately 86 miles had been built as of November 22. What has been built has also been constructed "in place of dilapidated and outdated designs," according to the report, so, technically at the time the report was released, no completely new border wall had been built.
According to the new poll, the border wall was not the only point of disappointment among Mexican nationals, with participants expressing an overwhelmingly negative view of Trump himself.
According The Dallas Morning News, 75 percent of Mexicans said they have an unfavorable view of Trump.

The wall is a good first step...A passive barrier will hinder if not totally prevent illegal border violations by the majority of foreign nationals...
Then as you’ve said, stationing patrols of troops, Federal forces, or NGs, with rules of engagement to Challenge, then Warn, Apprehend and finally use Lethal Force against invaders who do breech the wall, do not heed, and are on US soil in violation of our law...
If Mexico were truly concerned for its citizens welfare, they’d be doing all they could on their side to prevent illegal crossings...But the US is their “safety valve” to relieve excess population...Plus the currency returned to Mexico by illegals working in the US...
Well, they’ll find out when the walls go up.
Wet Dreams posing as Fake News/Poll!
Thanks
And Berlin.
If I was against building that wall because I couldn’t easily just cross the border anytime I wanted, I would probably have the same opinion.
It doesn’t matter that most Mexicans don’t believe the wall will stop them because it’s already stopping them!
If I was a pregnant woman, I think a 30 foot tall wall would at least somewhat impede my forward progress
And it needs to be at least 50 feet high, not the 30 they specified.
And another solid 50' wall 50 yards behind it. Both walls with ramparts wide enough for two humvee lanes and concertina. This gives you a no-man's land 50 yards wide enough to fly drones and tactical dune buggies over.
Also equip it with garrison posts every 10 miles.
Wow! Drudge has been posting not 1 mile of wall has been build yet for years!
Lol! Better than nothing.
Greatest of all Times!
Average IQ of Hispanics in America is about 87. Likely a notch or two lower in Mexico for a variety of environmental reasons.
That’s not to say there are not a bunch of really smart Mexicans.
But half of them clock in below 87.
Armed guard towers, moats and a scarlet letter tattooed on their foreheads if they somehow get across.
I have an even easier answer. Plant saw vine along the fence. It grows like crazy, is almost impossible to get rid of and will shred your body as you try to get through it. It's a nice, passive, green solution.
It should be 100% after decades of empty and unfulfilled promises to do something about it.
Who cares what the people in Mexico think? It figures Newsweak would poll the same people who violate our laws to get here. What a dumbass poll.
Or a solid concrete wall, like Israel has.
I would hope the wall would be supplemented with sensors to detect anyone with a cutting torch, or someone digging underneath it.
An alarm goes off on all the BP laptops to let them know where they are trying to get across. Its not that big a deal to do.
That, with drones flying up and down the line should do it.
