Don’t change you just because someone is a control freak. My mother was a giver. That’s the joy of giving If they can’t afford gifts it’s their problems, that they can’t graciously accept your gifts. That’s why my friends and family all get cookies. Not that they need it but because I enjoy making and giving. HUGS.
I’m not going to change.....but you’re right it’s the JOY of giving I feel missing. It’s like getting robbed! And even giving them gifts anyway this year I don’t know how they wil take it. It’s like I’d be breaking their rules. There’s just no win in this.
At any rate...I’ll go as things are and see how it goes.... meanwhile I’m planning Christmas Eve here with pulled pork sandwhiches and other festive goodies that I enjoy... Will cuddle up with Jesus’s birth movies and the others fun to watch. It’s a plan!
