Did you go to an oral surgeon first or just straight to an ENT? So when I call for an appointment I need to ask if they, I don’t even know what the term is, you said excise something?

Wow, I can’t remember the last time I ironed! My iron is downstairs, being used for closing mylar bags :-)

After the dentist told me I needed to get a lesion checked out, I went to an ENT. He did biopsy and I had him check regularly. When I needed to have it excised or removed, he didn’t do that and the only ENT in town that did didn’t take my insurance.
His nurse did not help me find a doctor, she just told me to find an oral surgeon. To the insurance people and others, that term usually means dentist. And ENTs specialize in different things, so need to find one that can screen, do biopsy AND excise if need be.
I had to call ones in several towns and find one on my own. Hopefully your doctor or nurse or insurance can be more helpful.
