I had heard of something similar. When I first started working at China Lake Naval weapons Center in the Mojave Desert, there were a bunch of retirees that moved to Nevada. No state tax. California tried to tax them, saying that Nevada had no tax and they earned the income in California. It was possibly the same court case you’re talking about, they were told they couldn’t do that. But if they moved to a state that had tax, then they have to pay both? Liberals are not good with logic, lol.

No, the state income tax is paid to the state you live in when you get the distribution.
