Around here, popular specialist are booked up that long. I have to wait till March to see the ophthalmologist that I really like.
Here too in Chicagoland. My Surgical Ophthalmologist is the head of the department at Loyola Medical Center & Hospital. Took me from June & July visits to schedule my first surgery for November 11th. Second one was December 2nd and the 3rd one to fix what went bad with the first is on December 17th. I can’t even think about how bad it might have gone with another less experienced surgeon that I could have gotten into quickly for less money, more convenience and speedy results. Waiting was for me the best thing though very annoying. I would probably have been blind for life in my one eye if I had chosen differently.

wow, You are helping convince me to wait for the more experienced cornea specialist. But I already figured I wanted to try to get in with him if I can hold off my cataracts from growing to the point where I have no choice. There are more local doctors here that do the cataract surgery but not a single cornea specialist. With all my already existing issues, like cornea neuropathy and keratoconus, I need somebody that even knows what those are! Much less how to take them into account.
What happened with your surgery?
Just think of the quality of care and waiting time we’d have under Medicare for all.
