nah, I ended up searing the outside first. I dont know why but the recipes said to either do raw pack and dont add any liquid or sear and add hot liquid. I dont know why one couldnt put it in raw and add hot liquid.
But I was in no mood to experiment. Just wanted to get it done. And since Im using tattler lids I had to be more careful about the process so went ahead and followed the recipe for searing. The tattler lids are reusable, but they have a little bit of a different method.
