I cheat on the chocolate fudge
Melt 3 cups of Gus ride long (Guaridelli) chocolate chips about two minutes
Usually mix milk with 1/2 pkg of dark. P
Add can of condensed milk and Tablespoon of real vanilla (Usually just put vanilla on top of milk so it’s ready)

Stir like crazy COOL /cut. While stirring Add NUTS for liberal fudge and leave alone for conservative.

I use my grandmothers caramel recipe. Only using a candy thermometer has made it easier. Still takes some time.

Just finished for the day. Springerle are in the back porch resting overnight and I’m hoping to too.

A SIL makes us springerle cookies every year. As a trade off I have to make her ole fashion fudge. She is so good at how she makes them. She uses a Swedish press and they are paper thin. Her husband is diabetic so I take the fudge to her out to the garage where she works. That way it isn't around her husband. She answers the phone for the guys working there.

While Listening to you describe making them sounds like so much work, I’m thinking that individually wrapping some like the caramel’s and fudge, and then Packaging them to give away sounds like even more work!

I do like nuts in my fudge, but if I knew it was called liberal fudge I would pass, lol!
