Is a president entitled to a quick and speedy trial like average citizens?

I would seem that his 6th amendment rights would apply to a trial in the Senate, doesn't it?

I can see why some argue the "speedy trial" clause doesn't apply to an impeachment hearing in the House as criminal charges have not been made at that point.

But once the House votes to impeach they are actually leveling criminal charges at the impeached person and 6th amendment protections should apply.

That's my Humble Opinion!

But democrats are making the rules up as they go along and the Constitution be damned as far as they are concerned!

But I like it, so we will just say it is fact. That’s how the Democrats have been operating!

It’s a speedy and public trial, had to Google cuz I knew I got something wrong.
