After watching Nancy I am convinced she has a plan to impeach the President in the House and then delay sending it to the Senate.
There’s no way she lets the Senate hold a trial. She and Shifty Shift would have to testify. All their false facts would be exposed by a trial. No way she lets that happen before the next election.
The only other thing would be she knows it will fail to pass.

I know she thinks she is the President but I don't think the Senate would stand for that.

Yes, and they will continue for months to say our President is illegally running the country. And everything he does isn't legal.

“The only other thing would be she knows it will fail to pass.”
That one makes more sense. She wouldn’t have any control over what would happen in the Senate.
And she had no choice but to let it come to a vote, she has to appease the far-left radicals in their party

That jogged my thinking about the time line too.
To carry out the possibilities a little further, what if her plan is as you say:
- Impeach the president sometime in the spring
That gives the democrats an actual impeachment as a campaign issue
- Then they delay sending the impeachment referral to the Senate before the election
That allows democrats to say during the campaign that Trump has been impeached and not found innocent THEN
- After The election and a new congress goes into session several courses of action could follow. To name a few:
- President Trump is reelected, republicans hold the Senate, democrats hold the House
Democrats avoid subjecting themselves to a senate trial by saying the impeachment stands as is because it cannot be handed over from one congress to the next for a trial.
- President Trump is reelected, republicans hold the Senate and win a majority in the House
Republicans take the same position because they won't want to try their own president.
- President Trump is reelected, democrats hold the House and take the Senate
Democrats could hand off the the impeachment for trial to a democrat senate in 2020.
Republicans might try to claim the impeachment cannot carry over to a new congress but democrats would just laugh at them.
- President Trump is not reelected
The impeachment becomes a moot point - Pelosi's dirty tactics will have carried the day.
Either way, that give democrats the impeachment of a republican in the history books without ever allowing the president an opportunity to formally counter the charges and clear himself.
Pelosi is banking on the fact that a great number of people (perhaps a majority) don't even understand that an impeachment is only the first step in a two step process.
They believe that an impeachment is an actual finding of guilt on the part of the president, not just the act of lodging charges against him.
Her objective will be to soil the president with an impeachment enough to swing the election while she and her cohorts avoid ever having to face a formal inquiry into their actions in a senate impeachment trial.
