Some Things I Learned Watching Live PD.

Some Things I Learned Watching Live PD:

Make sure the lights on the rear of your vehicle are working at all times.

Wearing your seatbelt saves you from a traffic stop. Which can lead to further complications.

Can’t out run from the cops on foot or in a vehicle unless you have a motorcycle.

If you have to hold your pants up when you’re walking there’s no way you can outrun the cops on foot.

Running from the cops because you have a traffic warrant will only cost you more money and time, probably in jail.

Make sure your baby mamas don’t know about each other.

In spite of what your friends told you making a license plate with an inkjet printer doesn’t work in Missouri.

Everybody in Rhode Island is drunk and belligerent.

Most people in Texas are drunk and belligerent.

Many people in Montana are drunk and belligerent.

Don’t violate a restraining order.

If you pick up a hooker make sure you get your story straight before you get stopped.

Don’t frequent known drug areas.

Driving with an open alcoholic container in your car and having your kid hold it for you between sips will get you arrested.

Don’t spill bits of weed on your lap while you’re driving.

This isn’t my pants, shirt, jacket, or hat never works.

Don’t drive like a jerk.

Properly use your turn signals.

Cops win fights because they bring more people.

If a cop looks like he’s over 35 they have heard every story there is to hear. It’s all repetition to them.

Lieut. Danny Brown can smell marijuana from 300 feet even if you’re driving by in your car with the windows rolled up.

If you pick a fight with Deputy Garrow Brown you’re a confirmed idiot.

In Arizona driving more than 85 miles per hour will get you arrested.

In Nevada(my home state) getting drunk and belligerent in a casino will get you a trip to jail.

When you throw your alcoholic container out the window make sure you don’t hit the cop that is walking up to your vehicle with it.

Don’t be belligerent with the cop unless you need a place to sleep for the night.

When the actual sheriff from your county stops you it’s best not to call him names and insult his mother.

Can’t beat the dog’s nose, they will find the drugs.

If you have 18 illegals in the bed of your pickup truck don’t speed on the freeway.

Getting caught with your clothes off with an underage girl or boy will get you arrested.

Asking the cop “Do you know who I am?” never works the way you think it will.

If you hear a helicopter while you’re running from the cops just surrender.

Cops are mostly decent people. They will do their job and if you show them respect they may cut you a break. Face it you’re caught.

Shoplifting in today’s world will get your trip to the jail and a record - unless you are in California.

I'm also guessing you're a woman? Another useful minor detail

“What did you learn from watching Live PD? “

I learned not to roll through a stop sign while getting a blow job.

Useful information.

Imho.

I have a small dash cam front and back. With audio. It still runs with the keys out of ignition.

Cops around us are generally good ones. But ya never know.

If I come across a bad one, that video is going viral.

I LOVE LivePD, best show on TV today. (one of my all time favorites)....

Nothing is staged. I do believe the police with the cameras do patrol in high crime areas, to increase their chances of getting good TV action. I know they recently selected Terra Haute IN because it has a high crime city (surprisingly). I love Tulsa, and I loved the OK PD. Missoula MT is slow, but different and interesting, just a reflection of the country as a whole.

Richland Country SC is my favorite. They run the outskirts of Columbia and it’s amazing the volume and kinds of cases they have. (Community policing) The car chase from a couple of years ago with Chris Mastriani, and the driver who flipped the car and pulled out a child, made the show all time for me. Jefferson County ALA (Birmingham) is one of my current favorites.

I love to see the different policing styles and rules in different departments. The K9’s are fabulous and are fan favorites.

Its very interesting that the host, Dan Abrams, is a flaming liberal. But I love him on the show, I think it has opened his eyes to what police really have to deal with.

And yes you will learn a lot of police stuff, and might even get you out of a ticket. A couple of years ago, driving through a new area of TX. Passed a cop, and saw him turn around. Pulled over, put my keys on the dashboard, my hands on the steering wheel. Was doing 19 over the speed limit, but got a warning.

I’m addicted to Live PD. The officer in Rhode Island has the greatest Elmer Fudd voice. Officer in Texas...or forget which state he is in, has Elvis Presley eyes. Just don’t get the tatoos...not even on Sticks Larkin.

Your list covers it. But, what will the police do when all the states legalize marijuana? Officer Brown has eyes in the back of his head. Also, don’t the police watch the show...they need to blow their nose before the camera is turned on... sniffling is not good TV, don’t you agree?

Re: Motorcycles. It was different ̀50 years ago. When I would be riding through a small town anywhere in the mid or southwest if I saw a police officer follow me by with his eyes I just pulled over and leaned on my hands against the nearest wall. It saved some time. I once got robbed by a uniformed police officer in Kansas and he gave me a ticket, too. A few hours later in Omaha at 5AM a cop pulled up beside me and asked me whee I was going. I said just north but right now I am looking for breakfast and coffee. He said follow me and I had breakfast with him. In the big midwestern cities if a cop's eyes followed me as we passed each other in traffic I immediately got off the highway and started random riding through whatever neighborhood was nearby. I got chased several times but never caught. In my hometown I had a good relationship with the police. I always stopped for accidents if I saw them before the police got there. I am an ace director of traffic. There is an ordinance now against citizens doing that so I don't but still know all the officers by name.

You can register ANY car (no matter what the vehicle is worth) for $20 + $1 mail in fee.

That’s pretty much the cost to register in MO as well, but...they charge you Personal Property Tax on the value of the car and you have to show your tax receipt when you register. Still cheaper than CA, but they will get you one way or another.

Yep. Love that about GA. Now the TAVT tax is another story.
I’m in West Cobb but hunt in Buena Vista. Love it down there.

News helicopter, yes.

I think the PO-PO chopper gets to go further into the restricted airspace. Did you notice how much lower the police copter flies, compared to the news chopper?

I don’t think your plan will work. Back to the drawing board!

I loved the list of “things I learned”, though.

It was a police helicopter that had to withdraw. The pace of an aircraft landing every couple of minutes at an airport is not compatible with news or police assets being in the way with zero notice.

Chanel’s of communication take time. Would a police helicopter really endanger the landing of commercial aircraft? I think not.
