Nope, but thanks, good tip. I've got a box that turns a 3.0 port from the aging laptop into a hub, ethernet port, and HDMI (1080p) output (the RJ45 and HDMI on the laptop are shot). I may just break down and get a mini box for less than $200 and start using the laptop for on-the-go. Trouble is, I don't really go anywhere. :^) I need the USB hub for a stick CPU that's just been added to the big-assed TV. Actually, I'm using a Voult hub/ethernet adapter I'd formerly used on the laptop, and it works fine, but I'm looking at interesting stocking stuffer options.

My big Black Friday recommendation was getting yourself a Brother P Touch label maker. The D210, the one I have and use all the time, is on sale for BF at Staples at $9.99 instead of the $39.99 it usually costs. VERY useful to have around the house and perfect as a little house gift. I also picked up an updated version of Microsoft Office (mine was from 2011 and is now acting up from age) for $50 off there.

Meanwhile, due to the movers causing damage to my TV stand, I bought a new one for an excellent price at Target. It had the shelves but not the metal mount, so I picked one of those up at Amazon. Due to the different configuration of this dwelling from the one I sold in NYC, I've had to buy tons of things to create storage space; Sterlite drawers, bookcases, etageres, etc. Amazon's been making out from my purchases alone, as are Target and IKEA. On tonight's menu, we have hemming new curtains and putting together the second of the 2 etageres. Tomorrow's menu will include putting together a bookcase or two. Great for counting calories, these non-eating menus!
