To speak to the latter part of your post, since I’ve been lurking around here, and occasionally snarking, I’ve read a lot of things that make me wonder. It often seems that the left pursues their ‘goals’ with a seemingly ‘religious’ fervor.
I think that we can all agree that globally, socialism is a catstrophic failure, and yet they pursue it with the zealotry of an apostle. Throw in the occasional odd visits to Antarctica, and you could almost begin to wonder - is there someone or some … thing that holds such a ‘religious’ sway over them? If so, what/who/how???
Or is it merely the pursuit of money and power?
Or something more … sinister???
(sounds like a topic for a ripping sci-fi novel, or maybe a good evening of “Coast to Coast”)
This is how I visit with Gov Perry’s mom : “Well hello Amelia! I didn’t recognize you with longer hair! It looks good! What are you doing for Thanksgiving?...... I’d love to see that quilt you made of the Missions of Texas. Yes, I’ll try to stop by before Christmas.” Etc etc etc. It’s easy!

I agree with your assessment of the left as religiously motivated. I have my opinion on that.
