“Someone I know saw that and said he was on the edge of his seat for much of the movie. He’s not a Matt Damon fan either, but the guy is a good actor and my friend said he and Christian Bale are both excellent. I think I can get hubby to actually go to that one too!”

I was a big racing fan when this all happened and felt like I knew the main characters. Neither the story or personalities needed any embellishment. I thought the Shelby part was a little weak, but all in all a very well done movie.

She and Clinton are responsible for what happened to Jewell.

I hope you came back out later with a cup of coffee and sneered a little bit just for effect.

I saw a commercial for this and they had a bunch of cops / FBI in a dark room with Jewel lying to him that if would just let them recording a call with a bomb warning in it, that would let them eliminate him as a suspect and he almost tearfully, after multiple threats, does it. I thought "wow, this isn't a whitewash, it's damning. Shocked that Hollywood would be bold enough to do this!" and then I saw "Clint Eastwood". Oh. Of course.

Thank God for Clint Eastwood.

I thought that movie was going to cause mass shootings everywhere. Guess not.

Maybe it did but they were all by rabid ANTIFA guys and socialist Bernie-bots so the press never reported it?

Midway (despite Harrelson), Ford vs. Ferrari (despite Damon), and now this. I will add that my avoidance of Harrelson and Damon has nothing to do with their politics, just that I think they’re lame actors.

Harrelson nailed it the Midway movie. He stole the movie with his part of Nimitz. He also did great in the movie, No Country for Old Men. Oh and Zombieland-loved that also.

Your list is identical to mine. I haven’t been to a movie in a couple of years.

Jon Hamm is in this one.

He was in a gem of a miniseries on Amazon Prime called Good Omens. He played the Archangel Gabriel. It is a story (comedy) of the unlikely friendship of a Demon and an Angel, as they go thru history. Michael Sheen is the Angel, and David Tennant is the Demon.

I’m no expert on actors but to me Harrelson has the same problem that Damon has, which is that he never comes across as a character but rather is just sort of himself.

So I know what’s going to happen with Midway — it’ll be historical and I’ll be following along and then all the sudden Woody Harrelson is going to show up wearing some historical outfit but he’ll still just be Woody Harrelson and the anachronism will blow the whole thing up for me.

That’s exactly what happened with Saving Private Ryan. Truly amazing, monumental great movie, totally immersive — but then there’s that damn middle section with Matt Damon being Matt Damon in a WWII uniform that totally derails it.

So I’m preparing myself to be resilient about Midway despite Harrelson. Maybe my preparations will turn out to be unnecessary...that would be a pleasant surprise.

Not to nitpick but Clint is 89 - he won’t be 90 until 5/31/2020.

“Just remember, it was the “rank and file” FBI agents that Hannity is always holding up as virtuous and honest”

A husband and wife team, both FBI agents retired and moved to my small town community to settle down. Both are far left liberals.

you can replace Damon with Wahlberg in any Movie and it would be a better movie.

That would make The Departed somewhat confusing though.

Okay, I’m going to see Midway and will report back. I am fully expecting Harrelson to stink up the place but will be happy if that’s not the case.

There is a movie called The Highwaymen on Netlfix and Harrelson is in that along with Kevin Costner. It is about 2 agents chasing Bonnie and Clyde. Unlike the movie with Faye Dunaway, this doesn't one doesn't romanticize these killers, in fact, you don't see them on screen until the moment they are killed.

I came away thinking that Harrelson has improved his acting as he has aged.

Paul Walter Hauser was terrific in I, Tonya as the bumbling and inadvertently funny Sean. I really look forward to seeing this film.

There needs to be someone to fill his shoes. Otherwise that movie will never get made.
