I’m going to push back on the criticism of Heinlein for pushing the envelope a bit.
It’s true some of his characters were into nudity and other practices that are not the one-man-one-woman relationships we know to be best.
But did anyone ever read Shakespeare? How about the Bible? All those Old Testament patriarchs had two wives, one of whom was generally their half sister.
And yes ... Heinlein’s characters got into some (ahem) psychoanalytic cross-generational sexual situations through time travel.
But as everyone who knows Heinlein would agree, the central core of his writing is more about freedom and individuality and honor and human potential than about the porous sexual boundaries.
