What gave it away for me were the radar antennas. Russian antennas don't look like Western antennas even in the same frequency band.

I suppose it helps that my specialty was Electronic Warfare. I'm a bit surprised that I picked up on that as fast as I did. It's been a while since I did this stuff for a living.

I used to be able to identify helicopters by the sound of their rotor thump before I could see them. I used to impress people by saying here comes a CH-53 or CH-46 or whatever and I was never wrong. Now they don’t have any of the same birds they used when I was in and I can’t do it anymore.
