YOu’ve read about Operation Mockingbird? CIA was acknowledged to have infiltrated media - television coverage etc. That was in the old black and white tee vee days. I recall watching footage of a the head of a broadcasting agency being questioned about it. Well, it never went away. That’s why the news is 24/7 against POTUS and all sounds the same. Well, almost all - there are a few agencies or news casters within agencies not bought and paid for. And the CIA types are both Republican and Democrat. Many people for sale.

You know how success has a thousand fathers, but failure is an orphan? I’m sure the CIA has claimed to influence people, but whether those people were actually influenced by the CIA is a different question. My guess is that many of these CIA employees were influenced by the far left media rather than the other way around. But when you write a report about your exploits so you can advance up the ranks, it helps to suggest that you are a puppetmaster rather than a bemused moneybags or, even worse, a puppet.

Another way of putting this is that if money were the principal motivator in the world, Marcus Crassus, the richest man the world has ever known, would be the principal religious icon in the world today, not a penniless carpenter of dubious issue.
