No one was talking about the Browns’ victory but about the team’s star defensive player swinging Mason Rudolph‘s helmet at the quarterback’s head.

“A win’s a win. I don’t think it’s overshadowed by what happened in eight seconds,” Garrett told reporters in the locker room.

Garrett refused to talk about what set him off. Replays showed that Rudolph tried to rip off Garrett’s helmet before trying to kick him.

So why did he try to pull off his helmet. I haven’t seen a clip of the initial contact. Did he spear him with his helmet. Since Garrett has a history of dirty deeds on the football field, could he have been the original instigator?

… at which point he will sign with the Patriots.

I'm thinking he'll end up in the XFL, with an off-season contract with the WWE. I'm sure his antics would go over well in those venues.

The Steelers QB started this by trying to pull off Garrett’s helmet.

See here: https://youtu.be/eef-l5pcEIk?t=78

Based on this video view, I am on Garrett’s side.

Another black showing a lack of impulse control.
What can you do?
Nothing, because he’s black.
The NFL is as pathetic as any other organization or company in todays climate of social retardation.

"His actions do demand very tough penalties...but there is room for mercy, too"

Which are you vying for? ('Tis seems you're speaking out of both sides of your mouth)

If he is to be extended mercy, then the league & the helmet-attacked quarterback should or could extend him that. But if they do, and he still receives "very tough penalties," that's hardly "merciful." (So, please: Don't redefine "mercy" here).

If, on the other hand, he is given "very tough penalties," how would that exactly be "merciful?"

Which is it?

So hitting the QB's helmetless head with a helmet was a proportionate response?

That was Andre Gironde that Haynesworth tap danced on. Jeff Fisher didn’t wait for the ref to eject him. Fisher did that himself. As soon as Fisher could get to Hayesworth, he screamed at him to get off the field and got to the locker room. I loved it.

Good for Jeff Fisher!

Garrett executed a form tackle. Nothing dirty.

.….well, since we both wrote our posts, the NFL has suspended him for the remainder of this season plus some of next season.

So, it looks like my “calendar year” prediction might fall a little short.

Hitting a guy with a helmet on his bard noggin could easily have killed the guy. Does he get the handcuffs and prison time in that situation is the real question.

This guy is lucky his temper did not end up getting him charged with murder which would have been a career ender.

The coach has to go. This is going on all year. One embarrassment after another.

OJ chimed in “who started it?”

Glad Garrett didn’t possess any sharp objects.

Yes, indeed. Garrett could have gotten a broken neck. The other guy initiated the fight.

I rewatched your video, I think they should both get the same suspension.

Must be considered too violent.
