Has anyone received the 2020 Census mailer yet? I received a note on my door saying I failed to return the survey and a card to call the person for an in-home survey. Is this legit?
The website saId they keep-coming until you answer...see my previous post about it being us law.
I’m torn about filling out census forms. I hate the idea of more of our family info being put into govt. computers — but I also do genealogy and a census is full of info for me. I have so many poor Irish and English relatives that apparently never did any noteworthy or left much of a paper trail, so the census every 10 years is their only proof of life. Sigh.

Name, address, number of people in household, citizenship and nothing more. Last time I got an in-home visit. Still refused to answer a lot of questions - just wrote/said NOYFB.
BTW! Make sure your name is clearly written. My last name has five letters and you would not believe the number of ways it has been misspelled on the census. Sometimes even within the same household. Makes genealogical searches very difficult.

We just finished canvassing around the end of Sept. The census forms are supposed to be mailed after Jan 1.
GOOD FOR YOU. Still, odd that CENSUS would ask you to do all the leg work for them regarding their own danged CENSUS employee, on some strangers legitimacy?
Am I overly suspicious, or what? These people have to show me a warrant with a deputy beside them and in full uniform, for me to ever to dutifully comply. LOL!
That’s it...It has nothing to do with normal census.
The Census used to be something of a civic duty and Constitutional and now is worthless and dead to me. Our demographics is now out of our control and the census was ruined by the left.

I had census works knock on my front door and they refused to leave after asking the basic questions. I called the cops and threatened them with trespassing.
“This isn’t our house. We’re just squatting until Spring. Then, we’re off to Florida.”

Thats what I always do, even had census takers showing up at my door trying to get my to answer the questions I threw away - and told them to f’off, I wasn’t answering any questions.
Haven’t heard back from them in many years.
We just completed one of the first operations for the 2020 Census, Address Canvassing, at the beginning of October.
We literally rechecked ALL our house-to-house data for the 2010 Census.
Might be the ACS.
Last census I was threatened by our benevolent government with multiple $200 fines for not returning the census form filled out.
You can imagine the “quality” of the information that was on the form when I finally sent it back.
None of their f***ing business how many bathrooms I have.
That's for the 2020 operations. I just got done with one of the first operations the first week of October - Address Canvassing [checking the 2010 addresses & maps].
Went from middle of August till October.
