Drudge actually went the way of tabloid reporting as well... Though I understand ‘fill ins’ when a news cycle is slow....but there’s a lot of junk articles being pushed today...even here on FR.
I tend to think the newer generations prefer junk articles over otherwise informative ones. Also most can’t respond with more than one liner reactions rather than thinking through what’s been said, posted or written about.

Drudge doesn't report.
In the event he has anything original it's commenting on someone else's reporting.
The real problem is very few organizations are willing to invest the money it takes to do reporting.
Especially whan you can make money by riding on the investments made by the big media organizations.
