Welcome old timer, it is a time honored tradition here on FR to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Its how liberalism always eventually wins.

I agree. And the perfect is not always perfect. Too often we have been disappointed by elected persons whom we esteemed and trusted to be above just political interests. We do the best we can and make judgments based on, as pertains to qualifications for political office, our assessment of the overall worthiness of the person being considered.
