The human body maintains a pH within a very narrow range in order to survive and function.

The normal range is 7.35 - 7.45 for arterial blood. If you manage to get outside of that range you will develop acidosis or alkylosis.

Not to worry. You really can’t turn your body alkaline because it will fight you at every step to keep the pH balance it wants and needs. You might neutralize your stomach acid enough to cause a problem but that’s probably about all.
