Like most freeway drivers, I’m sure she wasn’t following the 1 car length of following distance for every 10 MPH.
No time or space to react.
She was the passenger and you must be loads of fun.
I drive a lot. If you leave that much space at 80 miles an hour at least two vehicles will immediately fill it
No one does, because if you leave that much space other people cut in and, you then again, don’t have space.
There is no reason of any kind to assume she was not.
I typically drive eight to ten miles under the speed limit on an empty road. I drive pretty far back on a busy highway, as I had a stroke when I was thirty one and my reaction time isn’t what it used to be.
You don’t seem to have even the most vague concept of just how far steel can bounce when it hits the pavement.
Trucks and trailers will cut you off. Of course they sometimes have a “you must keep 200 feet behind this vehicle, not responsible...”
Then don’t cut me off. Especially on highways that say “no truck in left lane”.
I haven’t had metal fall from one of these things but I’ve had my share of stones from uncovered loads.
