I think the MAGA movement is an echo or possibly a harmonic of the "Real" '60s movement, which was anti-establishment, idealistic, freedom-loving, even patriotic (remember flag motifs on clothing?) and highly celebrated creativity.
The "60s Movement" I remember fondly was killed when it became infested with commies and nihilists of various stripes and also poisoned with cocaine. It was dead long before AIDS was detected by the CDC.
But we have grown up now ... no longer children (except children of God) ... long-accustomed to dealing with reality and responsibility.
It will be different this time. It will not just vanish again like the memory of a dream.
