I took photos of it too.

Was able to give youngest son a history lesson on the evils of Communism and why tearing down the wall and reuniting Germany was important.

He knew nothing about it.

Great pictures!

I had a dear friend from East Berlin that had married a solider. For years she was not able to communicate with her family, and on birthdays, holidays, etc., she would have some sadness. They had five children her family didn’t even know.
Anyway, when the wall came down, she couldn’t stop crying tears of joy, and immediately started planning a trip.

Maybe young people believe that the Berlin Wall and the wall on our southern border are equivalent. A generation ago, some were already led to believe that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor because we had dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

So many decades of teaching our children that ..,, America is an oppressor nation. Young people don’t even know that we were the colony, not the colonial power. Can it ever be turned around?
