It’s an easy fix if they wanted to. In Indiana regular license are horizontal. Probationary are on vertical cards. The ID cards used by people without driving permission has a different color background. When the DL is presented for ID at the poll the differences are easy to see. The same concept COULD/SHOULD be used for foreign drivers.

If the machines work properly..and you have people at the districts to get if something itsn't working correctly. So yes we have bettered our system here in Indiana..but its NOT 100%..correct.
