You plug it in ....we have ours on an extension cord(safety)...it turn around and under the top area is a hot oven somewhat like a toaster...The round area turns and also an oven area... while its baking on top-button (only)/or both top and bottom cook. As I said I bought mine from Kohl's..hopefully they still sell them. Might have to buy on line..I rarely go in a store.
