Does anybody believe the Republican senators will vote 20/33 for impeachment? Really?
30 GOP senators would vote to convict if the ballot was secret. They may try to put such a rule in effect for the trial, arguing that “jury” votes are always by secret ballot. The constitution allows each house to set its rules for its proceedings.
