More protein! No sugar!
Sugar is very bad. A killer. And yes, meat is good.
The trick is losing weight, fat) and it can very easily be done by cutting down on the carbs. Exercise is a important but not necessary to lose the weight. Excess fat means that insulin is less effective.
Bingo. I have had two vegan friends this year after 20+ years went off it. At 50 they began experience joint problems, hair falling out, premature aging, digestive issues, skin cancers, nerve pain. Eating a more Paleo way, reversed all of those issues. They thought a healthy diet was granola, raw vegetables and fresh fruit 6 times a day, lentils and lots of vegan pizza. That was the way to live till 100. One, I swear after 6 months eating meat looked 15 years younger. Oh a side effect, when they became meat eaters again their political views changed lots. Odd?
Agreed for the most part. I think there is a synergistic effect of adding exercise to a diet and there are multiple non body fat loss related benefits to exercise. And that doesn't necessarily mean running marathons or signing up for cross-fit. There's a ton of evidence that's been coming out which shows the most efficient form of exercise is plain old walking. Just walking for 45 minutes a day provides a ton of benefits in addition to burning calories. But, your initial point that cutting carbs and sugars is the key. Minimizing starchy carbs (white bread, white rice, potatoes, pasta, etc) and cutting way down on sugar is essential. Don't drink any liquid calories if you are trying to lose body fat. Fitness/weight loss is: 60% diet, 30% exercise and the digestive process itself accounts for the other 10%
“Exercise is a important but not necessary to lose the weight.”
Exercise does more than burn calories!
It’s not just carbs, it’s carbs AND high-fat.
Pick one or the other, you cannot have both. And with fats, you feel much more sated.
