Interesting as hell to consider geography on other worlds, using this world's geology as a template. Is that acceptable, and is that applicable?

Is that acceptable, and is that applicable? It's the only template we know. It might be applicable.
We search for 'life as we know it' mostly because we think we know what that would look like.
Same for geology...

Go to google earth and zoom in on this area of mars. This is all very well compiled very detailed satellite imaging from years of study. It is pretty obvious based on the fact almost all impact craters are a “hole in the ground”. Here or there, earth, moon, mars, etc.
Go check it out, it is pretty obvious when you zoom in closer.
