I watched every minute of every day of the Watergate hearings, and bought all the proceedings and the books written at the time. Nixon erased nothing. His loyal secretary admitted she did, but called it an accident. The fun at the time was showing the impossible positions she would have had to get into in order to “accidentally” hit the erase button.
I cried when he resigned. It was nothing and the Dems, like today, were only playing gotcha.
