On Sunday, a class was held in Robbinsdale called "Black Boys With Guns."
It's a class aimed at breaking social stigma. The course was created to give youth the opportunity to practice their firearm skills while also discussing gun-involved trauma that may have happened to them or someone they love. It's the second time organizers with "Strong Arm Protection" have lead a program of this kind. The team behind this program believes that educating young black youth will help curb gun violence in the greater Minnesota Community.
This month, more than a dozen minority boys between 12-19 years old went to this range not only to discuss their roles with firearms but also to have a safe space to practice firearms skill.
"My goal is just to get these young people knowing the responsibilities that they have when it comes to these things" said Richard Robinson, Jr., CEO of Strong Arm Protection.
African American male and female pistol instructors also assist in leading discussions with the students on many of the gun violence problems in local neighborhoods. The classes are volunteer-based and also free. Next month young black girls will be invited to participate.
To learn more about the program you can visit their website.
So when they "pop a cap", they can do it in a "safe" manner.

Yep. Like handing Bill Clinton access to a kindergarten girl’s school.
It’ll cut down on innocent bystanders getting shot. Maybe. Not.
How many SOMALIS have signed up for lessons?
They seem to specialize in Black clientele. It would seem logical for them to have Black security staff.
They have an unbelievably low price for a CCW class. It appears to be directed at young Black women who have very little money. The class is an obvious loss-leader.
I wonder who their big-ticket clients might be.
Did it open with a resounding “First, pull up your pants!” ?
Big ticket clients have body guards
since when do we call 18 and 19 yrso “boys”.....?????
btw can any other “boys” attend or is this just blatant discrimination?.....afterall, whites are frequently the victims.
Just lazy reporting.
Would take up too much time and space to say “boys and men”.
And if you believe THAT...
As far as I can tell, “Black Boys With Guns” means just that.
Of course they do. From what sources do the big ticket clients get their money? That matters quite a bit. It also determines the character of the security staff.
This firm has an odd mixture of people on their visible staff. They have a cheaply hosted and insecure web site. Oddities that bear watching. It "just don't look right".
I’ve always said that schools should have shooting classes to take the mystery out of guns for kids...let them learn responsibility and what they are all about. Let them - no matter their color - learn that boys and possibly girls years ago did have gun classes in school and many drove there with their own personal weapon in their vehicles. Gun laws have made kids wonder what they’re all about and when they are kept in the dark, it’s all the more interesting to them. Schools know or at least should know if they have gang bangers in classes and they could knock their heads together if they didn’t want to take the lessons seriously.
$30 for a one-on-one Carry Training class?
Wow.
Or not, who cares?

Ya think? There is no doubt in my mind that the $100 plus per CPL classes and subsequent renewal years ago when it was required that I have had to endure is nothing but a money making scam by the instructors conducting the classes.......
“How many of these children have fathers who can teach them respect, safety and responsibility?”
I believe that you have stumbled onto something, here.
Is the NRA in on this? Back in the 30s the NRA used to provide safety instruction to blacks. In fact up until all this hullabaloo started with gun control and Second Amendment, the NRA’s primary function was firearm safety education.
