Heat here is forced air over three ten kilowatt heat coils.
Over time, the wiring gets old and brittle.
Also, the relay that is supposed to pick to energize the coils doesn’t sound like it is picking since it isn’t buzzing anymore.
So it may be a matter of replacing the relay, the wiring, and the heat coils.
They have been in there since the place was built.
A number of questions, of course.
How much space needs to be heated?
How’s the electrical wiring elsewhere?
Do the heaters need to be “installed”, or can they be free-standing?
Why electrical? Is there no gas service?
Any other clues?
Oh, yeah.
Is this your house or your workplace?
Workplace.
So it’s on them to fix it.
But since they “fixed” the hit water, I’m not sure I want them to try and fix the heat.
Good morning, Tax-chick!
Oooohhh!!! Look at that little blush of color on the nu-nu, the ears and the rings on the tail! So pretty!
Good morning. I’ve had my shower and have to go get gas in the truck, then to Walmart to get some brownie mix and disposable pans for the Christmas Tree Festival, as Sharon will come by today and get them.
I didn’t take my list in all of yesterday’s stupidity, so of course I forgot half of what I needed to get. When I get back, I’m going to change all the stuff over and then I will tell you about yesterday. GAH!!
Good morning. It’s quite cold here!
I took Tom with me to Walmart and put him in charge of the list. He left it in the van. We got the important stuff!
Indeed, here too (upstate NY)! 13 degF. Im still under the covers, but work beckons. Im praying the driveway isnt too icy. 1/2mile of gravel, with a steep downhill slope to the main road. It was pretty rough yesterday after the ice and snow Monday night..
It’s only a little warmer here in my Southern suburb. I’ll have to warm up the van before I take Patrick the Further Additional Son to school at 9:00 a.m.
Best wishes for a safe drive!
Happy Wednesday, all
They say the “real feel” (whatever that means) is 9. The actual thermometer reading is 25. We’re going up to a high of 37, which is, reportedly, exactly 1 degree higher than the lowest high (?) ever recorded on this date in this locale.
It sounds as though you’re losing all your highs and lows. Ain’t it funny how the real-feel goes awaaaa-eee-aaay?
And a happy Odin’s Day to you. The windows of the van are clear, so I won’t have to melt or scrape before taking Pat to school.
We bought a Jetta for young ArGee. She has discovered that she can’t run the motor while scraping the windshield because the car will lock the door.
She lives in an apartment without a garage so she cares about this.
Leave the door open.
That’s what she did last time, but apparently some snow blew in.
She’s in Columbus, OH. She got snow.
She just needs an extra key, either on her person or on the vehicle. Mine is behind my spare, NOT in a fender well. :o]
The system is antiquated and supremely inefficient. Your best action might be to make a suggestion that they replace it with an air-to-air heat pump system.
They might get tax credits for it, and it would pay for itself in reduced electricity bills.
You could perhaps even find a contractor willing to give a good price in hopes of getting further upgrades with them elsewhere.
Snow is rare here.
Yes. I told her how to go about getting one.
It’s not that easy for a VW and she doesn’t like taking care of things. She’s extremely good at teaching her classes but got too used to having Daddy 10 minutes away.
