How did someone at a national network do this?
Do they keep machine gun festival footage in their archives?
Walter Cronkite perfected this back in the 60s.
I see it as contempt for their viewers. That or maybe desperation. Probably more than a little of both.
Contempt in that they don't think anyone will check - that their viewers will just accept whatever BS they peddle like good little sheep.
Desperation in that they are in a losing game to real news and are going for sensationalism - even if they have to create it out of thin air...or a humid Kentucky night.
I mean really... Looks like there were hundreds of people at that machine gun shoot. Probably thousands of friends/family/others would have seen video from it - it was pretty spectacular. Did ABC really believe no-one would notice or care? Like I said, contempt and desperation. The MSM is not to be trusted - not even for a weather forecast.

Or someone sends it to them, labeled as a “Kurdish slaughter”. In addition to being dishonest, the media is extremely gullible - especially when in it’s totally in useful idiot mode for the Dems.
They get punked and pranked regularly by the idiots at 4chan. Sometimes it’s pretty funny, tho:
