Why would the reporters worry? They aren’t committing a crime by just receiving or publishing leaked information; that is covered by the 1st amendment. The leakers are the ones who could be in trouble.
It doesn’t do “the impartial journalist” brand good to be seen sleeping with gov types to get info. I believe there will be further links - access, perks and info “given and take” that will “exceed” the public’s expectations in a negative way.
