If you choose to live in these areas it is a price you pay it is beautiful and peaceful in the hills however we have far to many fires you can’t blame the insurance companies, earthquake insurance is also ridiculous don’t know anyone that carries it!!! CA. needs to clear and thin the forests, I was thinking today that I can’t believe there is anything left to burn in CA. with all of these fires every damn year you would think it was all burned down by now,,,
They are brushfires not forest fires.
The brush grows back every year.
It is a never ending story.
We've had the same thing in Montana for years now.
Forests get overgrown, fire gets started, burns everything in sight and only thing left is 30-40 foot half-burned poles, looks for all the world like a giant box of matches got dumped.
Next thing, a herd of environazi lawyers show up, finds a nice compliant judge to issue injunctions against any cleanup or salvage.
Folks around here have started to call the messes that makes "Sierra Club Clearcut", 'cause all that nice half-burned timber is just going to stand around, dry out a bit more and wait for the next thunderstorm so we can have a REAL fire.
