“What was the reason they think this woman killed this poor guy?”
A doctor on Fox today said it sounds that she believed she was walking in to her own apartment. When she saw a stranger there, the fight-or-flight thing probably kicked in, and she chose fight. Still, as a cop she should have better instincts. I don’t see murder, but something at a lower degree.
Not how it happened. She found the door ajar and heard someone inside while she was still OUTSIDE the apartment. Instead of backing away and using the radio she had on her to call for backup, she drew her weapon and entered on her own. I'm sure this played a very large part in the verdict. If she had just stopped for a moment and thought, she might have noticed little things like the red doormat, and no one would have died that night.
