Speaking of Waylon Jennings. I saw him shortly before his death, playing the Topsfield Fair. Racked with diabetes, he got up on stage and gave it his all. He didn’t need the money but he clearly loved performing in front of an audience. I gained a whole new respect for him and his music still holds up very well today.

Some folks just like to project their own personal perspectives on the world

Waylon was very grateful for his fans and liked to give them what they paid for as well

He grew up dirt poor

Wet sheets on the windows to cool the house and keep the dust out so he valued the fact people were spending their money to see him
