actually, Trump deliberately set it up so that the only fundraising that the RNC does anymore is joint fundraising WITH Trump, such as the Trump Victory organization. This is advantageous to both: it basically gives Trump ownership of the RNC, but also gives the RNC fundraising prowess that they could never have on their own. And RNC fundraising is vital to Trump winning the House and Senate, and you can bet your bottom dollar that recipients of RNC money won’t attack Trump in public any more ...

This guy has given up the highest of the high life, his own 737 with solid gold fixtures, a TV show with all of the media blowing him, the ability to do anything he wanted to do with only private, family critics, and in return, he gets shit on, every minute of every day.

I appreciate your informative reply (I really do) but after decades of the GOP backstabbing its own base I find it hard to share your optimism.
Even if they refrain from attacking him publicly the Republican Retreaters will shy away from FULLY SUPPORTING him — if not secretly turn on him — at the first hint of media criticism of our courageous president. Its what they do, its who they are.
Sorry, but I have no faith left in the feckless appeasers in the GOP.

Anyone who thinks the Republicans will stand up and defend our freedoms is naive and sadly mistaken. Trump is all we got, at least right now. He is our shield in a very real sense.

I can see the impeachment insanity being a big turn-off for many mainstream Democrats who realize it is political kryptonite for their 2020 hopes, but what makes you think that many Democrats would actually contribute to Trump’s campaign?
