Yup. She does not want a vote on articles as that will end the careers of her members in purple districts. The Senate will never convict anyway, but they could give Trump a trial where he's free to declassify and introduce ANYTHING into evidence in his defense. And Lord only knows where THAT could lead.

But you're right, her base is likely too dumb to realize that this is kabuki theater.
