The coyote came charging full speed across the front yard, circled the tree, and charged right at Christine. It came so close it touched her.
"I feeled its ear," she said. "It almost bited my rib."
"We heard the scream," her mother Elizabeth Przybylski said. "She came in with this wild story."
Her parents pulled up the home surveillance footage and sure enough, there it was.

It was near death when she got there she had to euthanize it
I feel terrible for all concerned.
I worked years for a horseman, they were very special to him.
One evening I was out with our two Australian Shepards, one a bit over 50 pounds, the other over 40 as two coyotes came waltzing past. My pals wanted to run with them!!!
At a routine check-up, I ask our Veterinarian about it.
He said we should be OK. He also noted that he runs his dogs every evening in the woods next to his house, without major concerns.
I do not like them.
Maggots with fur.
I kill all I can hit. Record shot so far is about 330 yards propped up on the back gate with the 223. You gotta aim really high. I’m no marksman at all.
I just hate getting their fur and mangled up bones / remains cleaned out from under the SUV. What a pain in the ass.
We have a 6 foot chainlink fence.
Not far from me!
The coyote jumped over a six-foot fence around 9:15 p.m. and grabbed the dog, police said. The owner saw the coyote and yelled at it until it left. The dog will recover, police said.

Now I carry a flashlight to scan the yard when we go out at night.
During the winter mating season I carry a bit more than a flashlight.
I know that I’m NOT Wild Bill Hickok, or anything close.
I hope that if necessary the sound will do the job???
Chicken leg strychnine would clear them out of the woods.
He really didnt want her...
This one appears to be in good condition, many of the ones I see are thin and mangy.
I did come way TOO CLOSE to a very healthy one, had a cat in its mouth! Easy meal for a coyote?
Ahhh, the old family recipe...
On the Northwest side, they use the freight train and Metra tracks as a highway to go into the city at night to hunt and forage, then head back out to the forest preserves before dawn.
Weve seen them strutting down the middle of our street
Used to do early morning bike rides through DuPage.
Before sunup, they would be trotting down the sidewalk like they owned the place. Seldom seen after sunrise.
Most near the tracks in Wheaton and Glen Ellyn.
I routinely kill em out past 1000 yards, farthest was 1760. They seem to think if they’re far enough away they are safe. Jokes on them heh. A few weeks back, one was in the closest pasture and my oldest coonhound went to investigate, and he was getting quite close. I could tell there was going to be a scrap, so with my dog about 10 feet off of it, I shot it. That one was about 380 yards. Not a real great hit, I was rushing, so I blew off a leg. I had to go get closer to put right down. My silly dog kept getting in the way after that.
Ho problem with them here, I shoot everyone I see. It is legal to call them in, spotlight them, and kill them all year and we do.
There are still problems with them killing outside dogs/cats and small calves.
City folks will sue them and ask them to please not eat their children.
Wow! That’s where I grew up!
Of course, I only saw the stupid ones, that would get withing 150 yards or so, over iron sights... They were surprisingly skittish.
A year ago, there was a pair of red tail hawks sitting in a big pine tree in our yard eyeing our little pup. No fence can keep those guys out if they decide your cat or dog are for dinner.
Reminds me of this guy.....
....Pistol-packing Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a message for wily coyotes out there: Don’t mess with my dog.
Perry told The Associated Press on Tuesday he needed just one shot from the laser-sighted pistol he sometimes carries while jogging to take down a coyote that menaced his puppy during a February run near Austin.
Perry said he will carry his .380 Ruger - loaded with hollow-point bullets - when jogging on trails because he is afraid of snakes. He’d also seen coyotes in the undeveloped area.
When one came out of the brush toward his daughter’s Labrador retriever, Perry charged.
We have three intact male dogs. I think that makes a huge difference, because canines can smell that, and it is an indication to them that they are within distance of an able adversary. We’ve had them come through our side yard, but so far, so good. We are always vigilant, though.
We have a number of different typse of hawks, but our Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs weigh 85, 95 and 100 pounds. We also have a male mini Bull Terrier who weighs 50 pounds and is very tough. He’s also never alone. I always keep an eye on them, though.

A distant neighbor that had coyotes hanging around his dog run. He called the county wildlife biologist.
They said, no hard answers, but often the coyotes see the dogs as a threat and given the chance will attempt to kill them.
He put a top over his dog run to keep them out.
Most around here have a dog or two, his dogs are the only ones not fixed.
We’ve lived here since 2002. No problems.
