Although not fashionable in the city, in this rural area long hair on women of all ages is more common than short hair is-the owner of the local hair salon is a master at creating formal styles for long hair. Lots of guys with gray/white ponytails and beards out here, too...
My hair is below my waist and I shampoo once a week-sometimes twice-but I work in construction so my hair does get sawdust, paint, etc in it, even when worn in a bun or ponytail-about 8 years ago, I noticed some thinning so I started taking biotin and using Nutri-ox conditioner from Sally Beauty Supply-it is not thick, or oily so it doesn’t weigh hair down or feel icky-my hair got thicker and has stayed that way. Since I do color my gray roots back to red, I use a color-protective shampoo,-tried 3-4 or those before I found one that wasn’t too oily for my hair. I think finding the hair products that are right for you is a trial and error thing-the same thing is not going to work for everyone, no matter what the product advertising says...
Thanks, Texan5! We’re all different. My hair is a little longer than shoulder length. It’s mostly brown, with some greys. I shampoo 6 to 7 days a week, because I work out that often. I’ve tried so many different shampoos, and Biolage is working fairly well right now. I still use mousse, if you can believe it! :)
