Oh yeah, 1996 makes more sense for the show I was at. Billy Idol and Gary Glitter (later imprisoned for pedophilia) came out and sang The Punk and the Godfather (respectively). After playing The Who played the whole double-album, they took a break and then came back and played various hits acoustically for the next hour and a half.

The show blew me away.

When The Who performed Quadrophenia back when the album came out, it was a dud. They basically scrapped it, and reverted to playing their old setlist mostly from Tommy and Who’s Next.
