No I haven't hear that. Seat belts have been around for what 40 years? You would have think they would have perfected them by now & worked out any safety issues.

WOW, I was off by a many years:

Seat belts have been mandatory equipment since the 1968 model year per Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208.

Hearing the back seat isn't nearing as safe as they always thought because of the seat belts. I believe they are changing either now or next year.
