McCarthy had nothing to do with the Hollywood blacklist.
McCarthy was investigating the State department and the Army for communist infiltration.

The House Un-American Committee was formed in 1938 and ran until 1975 was the one that investigated Hollywood. McCarthy did not serve on that committee nor did he testify before it.

Hollywood has always been liberal, as if they would even listen to or obey some republican senator's wishes.

Yes, you’re right. My point, however, is that there never really was a blacklist, something that was phony yet the Left tagged McCarthy with the blame for it.
