I saw a PBS show on William the Conqueror and his invasion of England in 1066. His chief advisor and confidant was portrayed as a black man. They dispatched historical accuracy and incorporated ridiculousness in the name of 21st century inclusiveness.

The first time I saw this placing of a black actor for a white character was in the BBC series of Robin Hood a few years back. It was a black Friar Tuck.
